Do I Have Good Self-Esteem?

According to the Mayo Clinic

“Self-esteem is your overall opinion of yourself — how you feel about your abilities and limitations. When you have healthy self-esteem, you feel good about yourself and see yourself as deserving the respect of others. When you have low self-esteem, you put little value on your opinions and ideas. You might constantly worry that you aren’t good enough”.


Those on the lower range of Self-Esteem are afraid of trying new things because they do not believe they can succeed. They doubt their abilities and lack confidence. They struggle in relationships, have difficulty establishing boundaries and expressing their needs. People with Low Self-Esteem usually feel unloveable and unworthy.


By contrast people with excessive Self-Esteem can be overly confident and are usually bullies. They tend to over estimate their skills and abilities and believe they are entitled to succeed. These can lead to difficult relationships because they are perfect and it’s everyone else who needs to change.
